10 Tips to Building Your Social Media Community

Angle Studios has recently been capitalising on social media gaining a large amount of followers across many platforms which has prompted interaction with other businesses. In today’s world, social media is vital to your marketing plan. If you aren’t on social media, your competition may be benefiting from interactions from potential customers who could have been interacting with you.

It's important to have a strategy in place that compliments your business goals, and your overall marketing strategy. To build your social media community then we advise you to follow these 10 tips.

  1. Consistency – Having your biography and visuals consistent throughout all forms of social media will give your brand some strength, making each network easier to distinguish it as yours. Giving yourself a well-written bio linking across all platforms and in line with what your industry is a crucial step to take.
  2. Blogging – Blogging or vlogging (video blogging) is a great way to build your social media community whilst building credibility within your industry. Posting interesting blogs to inform companies of news and facts within your industry will lead to some companies depending on you for information. This then will increase the re-tweets you will be getting leading to more followers.
  3. Spelling and Grammar – Misspelling words is an accident, which happens to everyone. However, if you publically misspell on social media it can make your business look very unprofessional. Always double check everything you post online, from blogs to tweets is grammatically correct as it may affect your credibility online.
  4. Follow to be Followed – With Twitter especially, it is important that you don’t just focus on getting people to follow you, but also on following people yourself. It is difficult to get masses of people to read your content online if you aren’t willing to do the same.
  5. Engage in a two-way conversation – As of late, our social media has hit an all time high, which means more and more people are messaging and mentioning us throughout social media. It is our priority to respond to everyone who engages with us, even if it is just to say hi. Make sure you use your social media as a service outlet, encouraging two-way conversations.
  6. Be personable – Being personable is so important as it lets the community know that there is a real person behind the screen. This is because it is well known people buy from real people. Conversing with others in a casual yet professional way is the best way to do this and not let the community believe your social media is automated. This will also build trust as well as relationships with potential customers.
  7. Network – It is important to engage in two-way conversations with your already existing followers but what about your target market that is yet to follow you on social media? Find Twitter chats and Facebook Groups to get involved with, to increase your online following.
  8. Be professional – It is important to be personable, but also professional. Don’t post on social media about things that could make you look unprofessional like drunken antics, revealing pictures and family dramas. Being professional allows for potential customers to respect you as a business and someone they want to spend their hard earned cash with.
  9. Quality over Quantity – Sharing for the sake of sharing isn’t a good idea. It needs to be quality, valuable content that is suitable for your audience opposed to a barrage of content no one will be interested in. This is one sure fire way to build your following online.
  10. Share! – Signing up to twitter, sending one tweet then not touching it for months on end is pointless. The trick to twitter is to share! Share! Share! Create content regularly so that you always have something to post about like your latest blog, industry news or an event you are attending.
