3 Simple Ways To Ways To Speed Up Your Social Media Marketing

No matter what industry you’re in, social media marketing is a time consuming process. In the simpler times of social media, sharing great content would have been enough, but now there is much more to consider. It should be a daily effort of engaging with followers, monitoring and analysing activity as well as optimising paid ad campaigns. However, this takes time and if you don’t have a digital marketer on board your social media presence may get neglected to focus on other work. Here are 3 tips to streamline your efforts and significantly cut down your own time updating through social marketing.

Share content that you already know is trending in your industry

A lot of the time it is a guessing game to decide what type of content to share to your followers. However, there is a very helpful tool called Topsy that allows you to search for an industry term and will then show trending social content based around that topic.

The software tries to cut out the guessing game of whether your followers are going to be interested in what you are posting. Along the side of twitter, it will give you a list of subjects that are trending which could then be tweeted about if the subject relates to your industry.

Maximize exposure by seeking out engagement with influencers

Make the most out of your efforts in engagement by determining your top influencers on twitter as these will help to grow your exposure. Tools like Followerwonk analyze your Twitter followers and rank them based on the amount of followers, length of time they’ve had an active Twitter account, how often they tweet and what their social authority is. You can sort and export the data too, so you can keep track of engagement efforts with each user. The people topping the rankings are the boys and girls you want to engage with. However, don’t forget about the little guys, as all of your follower's matter and it’s not wise to neglect anyone. Just make sure that proactively reaching out to influencers is a key part of your strategy.

Create a content calendar in advance

Instead of searching for articles and logging into your accounts each time you want to share a post, consider streamlining your efforts by compiling all of your content into a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly schedule (depending on the nature of your content).

News articles should be timely whilst other content types such as product or service spotlights, blog showcases or employee photos, to name a few, can be scheduled way in advance to be brought out at the right time and maximum exposure. Organising and scheduling all of your content at once will allow you to have more time to be social with your existing followers whilst seeking out new ones.

Fortunately, there are thousands of software programs out there that can turbo charge your social media marketing efforts. HubSpot, Hootsuite, Wildfire are just a few which can seriously help you out when it comes to social media.
