Best Christmas Adverts Ever!

A lot like Christmas, TV adverts come and go constantly. For example, try to think and remember 5 or 6 adverts from the past and I bet you will struggle. However, when it comes to Christmas adverts its quite the contrary. Christmas is a hotbed for marketing gold and regularly graces our Tv sets with some of the most memorable gems in advertising history. We would like to share some of those gems with you here.

Marks & Spencer: Not Just Christmas Food (2006)

M&S aren’t shy around Christmas and have always left us with a taste of Christmas in our mouths after watching their adverts, using X factor finalists in 2011 and a celeb-stuff stocking in 2009. However, the sultry voiceover and mouth-watering images of Christmas food from the 2006 advert left an impression.

Irn-Bru: Snowman (2007)

Irn-Bru combined a spot of dark humour with the iconic Christmas song, Walking in the Air, in its humorous advert that first aired eight years ago, touching our funny bone and bringing that Christmas feeling out of us as well.

John Lewis: The Long Wait (2011)

The kings of Christmas ads struck gold again with this tugger of the heartstrings from 2011. Any number of classic Christmas adverts from John Lewis could have made this list including this years Man On The Moon advert, but The Long Wait is the one that cemented the retailer’s reputation as the tearjerking titan of festive advertising.

Sainsbury’s: Christmas is for Sharing (2014)

To mark the centenary of the start of World War One, Sainsbury’s used the true tale of a Christmas Eve truce and a game of football on the Western Front for its seasonal advert. After the game, a British soldier leaves a bar of chocolate in German soldiers pocket.

Coca-Cola: Holidays Are Coming (1995)

The ultimate Christmas ad! This year marks the 20th anniversary since Coca-Cola’s Christmas trucks first appeared on our TV screens. This classic advert lets us know that the holidays are indeed coming!

Thanks for reading. Merry Christmas everyone!
