We've had an ongoing relationship with The Key Safe Company since 2009.
The Key Safe Company, formerly Supra UK, are the UK’s leading distributor of secure, quality and effective key safes and key management solutions. In 2014, the company were looking to rebrand, expanded their focus into new market opportunities and differentiate themselves from their American suppliers and unrelated brands with a similar name.
As with all rebranding exercises, we understand the importance of retaining brand integrity, reputation and familiarity. With such an established brand, we were sensitive to The Key Safe Company’s request that the introduction of their new brand should be gradual and representative of the company’s secure nature.
Research into what the existing brand meant to customers was a vital part in understanding how to shape a new brand. We put a lot of time into defining the company’s values, goals and USPs and from there began to build a new brand.
Over time we have successfully integrated this new brand into The Key Safe Company’s website, brochures, leaflets and email templates.
As part of their new brand, The Key Safe Company wanted to ensure that any new corporate identity was integrated slowly and effectively.
When working on such an established brand, our first priority is to understand what people love and recognise most about the company. Our mission is to build upon these solid foundations, maintain brand recognition and familiarity and then create something fresh and innovative that will drive the whole brand forward.
Our first step was to create a new logo (to the left). The box encapsulating the new name demonstrates security, safety and compactness; all of which emphasise The Key Safe Company’s main product selling points. We retained the corporate blue colour, but moved away from the original font into something that was established and a little bit less rigid in appearance.
The roll out of the logo was extremely well received and became the first part of our seamlessly executed new brand integration strategy.

One of our favourite success stories has to be the launch of the C500 KeySafe, the UK’s first Police approved key safe, in 2010. We were honoured to work on such a high profile launch, integrating this new product into all of the company’s supporting literature and creating all new promotional material.
It’s understandable that when The Key Safe Company decided to rebrand in 2014, we were asked to incorporate the new identity across all their printed collateral. It was really exciting to revisit one of our beloved projects and give it a boost!
Many mid-to-large businesses benefit from email marketing, and when it comes to using such a channel it is important to ensure your templates represent your organisation in the best possible light. Plain text emails are often considered phishing scams or simply overlooked.
We’ve always aided The Key Safe Company’s marketing team with design and build of their email templates. Over the years we’ve spent a lot of time researching and accumulating information about how best to deliver a simple, engaging email that informs and educates the target audience. Optimising for mobile, testing on multiple email clients and always ensuring that the code is well structured (clean and free of nasty, niggling bugs) we’re able to maximise performance and engagement.
As part of The Key Safe Company’s rebrand strategy, we built a custom email template which successfully introduced and informed their growing customer base of the company’s progression. Combined and supported by other channels, this email campaign was the perfect way to deliver the company’s new message quickly to a wide audience.
In 2012, we were invited to pitch for the design and build of a new e-commerce website and despite the fierce competition, we secured the project! The Key Safe Company loved our clear, simple design and our attention to the user experience.
Since then, we have been the go-to agency for website updates and upgrades. The flexible platform and modular design allowed us to incorporate any changes quickly and with minimal effort. In 2014, The Key Safe Company’s new brand was seamlessly integrated into the design, as too were changes to the home page a year later, all of which lead to a drastic increase in conversions and sales.
After several failed attempts by another agency, The Key Safe Company were about ready to give up on any Search Engine Optimisation campaign efforts; experience telling them that SEO was an expensive form of witchcraft and guess work. Having worked with the brand for so many years, The Key Safe Company gave us the opportunity to let us change their mind.
We never pretend that we have all the answers. Our SEO campaigns are carefully calculated risks, developed and perfected over time to produce results. The Key Safe Company were understandably nervous about SEO, but found our honest approach refreshing and comforting; enough to let us outline our strategy, set achievable goals and get to work.
We picked up all the pieces from the previous failed attempts and began to glue them back together. In as little as three months we had considerably improved the company’s online presence. After a year we had doubled traffic and increased conversion rates.
The Key Safe Company website now sits above Amazon, Screwfix and Homebase (to name a few) for targeted key words.
We managed to convince The Key Safe Company that not every agency is the same. Bold SEO claims are all well and good, so long as they can achieve them. Our approach is honest and transparent. We gave The Key Safe Company complete visibility and access to our SEO reporting tool and from here they were able to track progress, compare performance against targeted competitors and keep up-to-date with search engine rankings.
Much better than just paying your money and hoping your agency is working for you, right?!
